Magician Mangle

Closeup of Magician Mangle's face

Magician Mangle is a special circus-themed variant of Mangle in FNaF AR: Special Delivery, embodying the mystique and danger of a circus performer combined with Mangle’s disjointed and chaotic nature. As a twisted magician, Magician Mangle brings a unique challenge that tests the player’s quick reflexes and resource management as they attempt to stop her deadly tricks before it’s too late.

Physical Appearance

Magician Mangle’s design takes Mangle’s original torn-up appearance and gives it a dark, magical twist, turning the animatronic into a macabre magician straight out of a sinister circus show.

  • Magician’s Attire: Magician Mangle’s body is draped in a magician’s coat, dark purple and black in color, decorated with faded, eerie carnival patterns. The tattered coat flows behind her as she moves, giving the impression that she is both a performer and a trickster. Despite the coat’s worn and torn appearance, it retains an air of mystery.
  • Top Hat and Accessories: Mangle now wears a crumpled, black magician’s top hat, perched awkwardly on her head, slightly askew due to her disassembled form. The hat adds a whimsical but unsettling feel to her design, and it glows faintly with dark purple lights, hinting at her magical theme. A broken magician’s wand is clutched in her other arm, while her various limbs still retain their erratic, disjointed movements.
  • Mechanical Chaos: Her exposed mechanical structure is still a prominent part of her appearance, with wires and endoskeleton parts hanging loose. However, her disjointed form now features new magical accessories, such as torn magician gloves and tattered scarves draped around her broken limbs, further enhancing the disturbing fusion of circus performer and malfunctioning robot.
  • Floating Knives and Saw: In keeping with her magician theme, three ethereal knives float around her form, seemingly under her control. Each knife is sharp and glows with a faint light, giving them an ominous aura. In addition to the knives, a large, slowly descending magician’s saw hangs above her, symbolizing the impending danger players face if they fail to stop her. These weapons not only tie into her magical aesthetic but also play a crucial role in her mechanic.
  • Mangled Face and Smile: Her face retains its broken, smiling animatronic features, though her wide, broken grin has taken on a more sinister quality, fitting her role as the dark magician of the Dark Circus. Her eyes glow with a bright, unnatural light, enhancing her menacing presence as she performs her deadly tricks.

Mechanic

Magician Mangle’s mechanic revolves around stopping her floating knives and preventing her saw from reaching the bottom of the screen, testing the player’s reflexes and ability to manage threats across multiple systems.

  • Saw and Knives Mechanic: Once per night, Magician Mangle begins her performance by initiating her saw-and-knife sequence. Her saw will slowly start descending from the top of the screen, representing the time the player has to deal with her. Simultaneously, her three floating knives will appear in the Vent System, positioned directly over the vent snares.
  • Blocking the Knives: The player must quickly place vent snares on top of the three knives within the vent system to block them. If a vent snare is placed successfully on a knife, that knife will disappear, reducing the threat level. However, the player must act quickly to block all three knives before the saw reaches the bottom of the screen. Failing to block the knives in time will result in Magician Mangle jumpscaring the player, causing an instant game over.
  • Timing and Strategy: The challenge with Magician Mangle is managing time and resources. As the saw descends, it acts as a visual timer, adding urgency to the player’s actions. Players must monitor the Vent System closely to ensure they react quickly when the knives appear, while also managing other tasks within the office. The vent snares are a crucial tool in stopping Magician Mangle’s deadly performance, but if the player is too slow or misplaces a snare, the consequences will be fatal.
  • Avoiding the Jumpscare: To survive Magician Mangle’s mechanic, players must balance the need to block her knives while keeping an eye on the descending saw. Successfully blocking all three knives before the saw reaches the bottom of the screen will neutralize Magician Mangle’s attack for that night, allowing the player to continue the game. However, if even one knife is left unblocked, or if the player is too slow, Mangle will jumpscare them, ending the game.
